GENERAL INFORMATION

J. A. Trucking, Inc. is a common carrier and contract carrier with operating authority in 48 states. We commenced operations June 8, 1984 and have experienced continuous growth. We attribute our growth to our commitment to excellence and service. The efforts and dedication of our staff and drivers at J.A. Trucking, Inc. have made this growth possible.  We have grown from 3 tractors and 3 trailers in 1984 to 52 tractors and 150 trailers. We are incorporated to do business in Texas; however, West Newton, PA is our only terminal.

Presently we are permitted in 45 states, but our primary lanes of Traffic are between the states of Indiana, Michigan or Ohio to the East Coast and New England States. We generally handle only full truckload freight in dry vans. Our drivers are usually home on the weekends. Our drivers are responsible for delivering all loads dispatched to them as quickly and efficiently as possible. They must get J.A. Trucking, Inc. dispatch approval before delaying delivery of a load.   

If you are hired as one of our drivers, you will be responsible for dealing directly with our customers either through dispatch or on a face-to-face basis. We will expect you to help solve our problems, rather than create them. You are J.A. Trucking, Inc. as far as our customers are concerned. Your appearance and most importantly, your attitude and concern reflects on us all.  

You will be a member of our staff and be responsible for the profitability of one of our units. Your future wages and benefits will depend upon the revenue generated through your concern and effort in our operation.

We are in a very competitive business. More than anything else, we need you to represent and project the type of image that can make the difference. J.A. Trucking, Inc. needs to stand for quality service and only you can provide that service. Our rapid growth is evidence of our capability to provide quality service in a competitive environment.

MINIMUM EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Age: 24

• Clean driving record

• Two years minimum experience driving a 5 axle-tractor trailer combination in an Interstate operation. (Must have been within the last 5 years).

• Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

• Good moral character (no history of drug or alcohol abuse, selling narcotics, or committing a felony).

• Must resign from any current employment prior to commencing work for us. (e.g., if you are currently laid off by another trucking company)

• Neat, clean appearance

• Application must be completed in your own handwriting. You must list all periods of employment, self-employment, training and periods of unemployment for the past three years including complete mailing addresses with zip codes and telephone numbers. If operating a commercial vehicle within the past 10 years.  You must also list past employment history and explain any period of unemployment.  You may have to provide W2 for proof of experience.

• Telephone in your residence (not a neighbor's telephone number)

• Vehicle to get to the terminal

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

If hired, you must become certified. This requires that you complete, agree to or provide the following:

• Take written D.O.T. test (upon request)

• Take road test  (upon request)

• Provide a copy of your current D.O.T. Long-Form Physical Examination

• Provide copy of driver's license (CDL)

• Provide copy of Social Security Card

• Driver data sheet on last 7 days worked

• W4

• Agree to comply with all company polices

• Provide one year driving history. Review - MVR

• Maybe required to get a drug and alcohol test. The D.O.T. requires you to be tested at J. A. Trucking, Inc.'s option at any time for substance or alcohol abuse

            (Company policy on substance and alcohol abuse).

NOTE:

• Driver's physical examination is required by D.O.T. Cost of the physical examination is the responsibility of the driver or applicant. Previous physicals will be accepted, if they are no more than three months old.

• J.A. Trucking, Inc. will pay for all Drug and Alcohol testing.

• J.A. Trucking, Inc. is Drug and Alcohol Free. If you test positive for substance use you will not be hired and if you are hired and test positive for substance abuse you will be terminated.
